What areas does MariErich Landscaping & Design cover?

We're based on Deer Run in Miami Springs and work across Miami-Dade and southern Broward. That covers Miami Springs, Doral, Hialeah, Coral Gables, Miami Beach, Coconut Grove, Key Biscayne, Kendall, Weston and Hollywood, along with Virginia Gardens, Medley, Miami Lakes, South Miami, Pinecrest, Palmetto Bay, Surfside, Bal Harbour, Davie, Hallandale Beach and the neighbourhoods in between.

How soon can you start?

Accepted Answer

A maintenance schedule or a pressure wash usually starts within a week. A full design and build is booked further out, because the estimate comes with a layout and because we finish one yard before starting the next — but you will get the visit, the plan and the price inside a week either way, and a date with it.

Question 3

Are estimates really free?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We come out, look at the yard, and give you a written price. There's no charge for the visit and no obligation to book. On a straightforward maintenance or washing job we can usually give you the number while we're standing there; a full design takes a little longer because you get a layout with it.

Question 4

What are your hours?

8am to 5pm Monday through Friday, and Saturdays by request — tell us you need a Saturday and we'll work it in. You can call, text or email at any hour; anything that arrives outside those hours gets answered first thing the next working morning.

Question 5

How does the 15% discount work?

Accepted Answer

Once you've spent $500 with us, 15% comes off your next job. It also applies to friends and neighbours you send our way — they mention your name, they get the same 15%. It carries over rather than expiring at the end of a season, and it stacks with nothing else because there's nothing else to stack with; our prices are just our prices.

I have an idea but I can't explain it. Can you still help?

That's the normal way this starts, and it's the part we're actually best at. Bring photos off your phone, a Pinterest board, a picture of a yard you drove past, or just tell us what you want to be able to do out there — sit, eat, park, keep the dog off the beds, stop looking at the neighbour's fence. We turn that into a layout and show it to you before anything is dug.

How much does a full landscape transformation cost?

It depends almost entirely on how much hard material is in it. Stone, pavers, edging, soil and lighting are what move the number; the planting is rarely the expensive part. That's also why we quote in phases when it helps — plenty of our customers do the front yard one year and the back the next, on the same plan, so it's one design rather than two unrelated jobs.

How often should a South Florida yard be maintained?

Weekly from about May through October, when St. Augustine is growing hard and two weeks is long enough for it to get away from you. Every other week is usually enough from November through April. Hedges and topiary run on their own schedule — most formal hedges want cutting every four to six weeks in the growing season to stay true to a line.

Will pressure washing damage my pavers or my screen enclosure?

Accepted Answer

Not if it's done at the right pressure, which is the whole job. Pavers blasted at driveway pressure lose their joint sand and start to shift, screen washed too hard tears, painted render gets stripped, and coral rock pits permanently. We match the pressure to the surface, pre-treat where the growth calls for it, and replace joint sand where any has lifted.

Do you do the artistic topiary work yourselves?

Yes, and by hand. Spirals, cones, columns and pom-pom standards are shaped over several seasons rather than carved in one afternoon — the plant has to be trained into the form and then kept there, which is why most crews won't take it on. It's the work the business is named for and it's the work we most want to be called about.
